Science Fair Project Ideas

Hi All,

We hope Term 3 has started well for you all at Kaingaroa. At Makauri we have a few events coming up which we are excited about. One of them is the Tairawhiti Science Fair. It's about creating things to solve problems in our community and sharing them with each other. Some of the problems we have been trying to solve at our school and in our community are the rat problem, recycling rubbish, and stopping the use of plastic. We also have a wasp problem in the summer.  We would like some ideas and solutions for some of the problems that you may have at your school that we might be able to investigate ourselves. If you have any ideas that might inspire us, please let us know.

    Hey there Kereru Hub it was interesting to see you sharing solutions to problem of Rats, recycling and stopping the use of plastic. I would be interested to hear about where this project leads you. I am following the predator free 2050 challenge. St Josephs school caught rats in their wetland https://predatorfreenz.org/st-josephs-predator-free-wetland/ . How could you find out where your rats are living or do you know already.

      Thankyou Dave. We'll check out that link. That may give us some ideas on other ways to trap rats. We have already looked at the possibility of using live rats to lure rats to the trap.
